Last Minute Gift: Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub

I decided on Christmas Eve, of all times, that I wanted to do something else for my mom for Christmas.  I'd made a photobook of Miss B, but I wanted something else with a personal touch, not just something that she'd flip through on occasion but mostly keep on shelf, adorable though it is.

So I turned to springpad, of course.   I'd seen something on another website I frequent that talked about great last minute gifts and among them was the Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub.  I had most of the ingredients on hand and I just had to make a quick run to Big Lots for a container.  Found a great Christmas container that was a good size at a good price: $2.50.  My kind of deal!

I literally threw this gift together in under 10 minutes. I followed the instructions, adding a little grapeseed oil and using the juice of a whole lemon as the scent.

And then I decided to take a little of the excess and try it on myself.

Frankly, I'm amazed that I didn't decide to keep it.  My hands were so soft it was ridiculous and I kept touching them and then running to my husband, saying, "Touch them!  So soft!"

He agreed.  Like he had a choice.  I will add though that the lemon scent does not remain on the hands.  I kind of wish that it did, but I'm not about to be picky with hands this soft.

On Christmas Day I'm not sure that my mom had a good idea of exactly what I was giving her.  Looking back, I wish that I had written a label or a little gift tag with it and some instructions "For Your Hands" or something more cutesy.  But I didn't and therefore had to explain what I had done.

On the plus side, she really liked it.  Soft hands all around!  Give this one a try. You won't regret it.
